The Story
The story behind these treats is, since I'm a personal chef and gourmet cake
decorator, I'm always in the kitchen whipping up something for someone. So
every time I would take something out of the oven and set it on the table to cool,
Buddy would just sit there with his nose up in the air, lick his chops and his tail
would be wagging out of control. So one day I was out of the store bought treats,
so I decided "hey, since I bake cakes, etc., why not bake some treats for the
budster". So I found some basic recipes and made a few changes and added a
some yummy ingredients like dried mango & papaya, honey, vanilla and cream
cheese just to name a few and begin making treats. I wanted to use human
grade, organic ingredients so that the treats would be healthy, delicious and
contain no preservatives.
At the time, I lived in a community that was dog-friendly and there were plenty of
dogs to be my "treat testers" I began handing them out to my neighbors and ask
them about the reaction from their dogs. One neighbor said their dog was so
finicky about his food and treats that they gave up buying treats because of the
amount of money they wasted, but he loved the treats I'd given them. Another
neighbor was going away to visit family whose dog who was just as funny about
his food/treats, not to mention the fact that the dog did not care for my neighbor,
so she took the treats that I gave her and she said not only did the dog enjoyed
the treats, he started being her friend. I got such a great response from everyone
that I decided to make treats so that others(dogs) may eat them, enjoy and be
happy - and that's how Joyful Creations Gourmet Doggie Treats came about.
